How to get a legend of your own
Phipps Kennels offers pups for sale as they become available. Call or text for details on availability and future litters.
Please contact us if you would like to be added to our waiting list or to send a payment to reserve a pup. All pups are up to date on their vaccinations and worming before being picked up or shipped, and can be picked up directly from Phipps Kennels or shipped by truck or air. Occasionally, started and finished hounds are available.
Pups typically do not leave the kennel until they are 10 weeks old to promote stronger socialization and health. They are handled daily and socialized with their siblings and mother throughout their time at the kennel — so pups from Phipps Kennels are confident, outgoing and friendly thanks to early exposure to humans and canines.

Hair-puller pups
Pups introduced to various prey by pulling hair on hides.
Finished hounds
Ask about finished hounds. We generally keep our hounds to work or breed, but occasionally we will sell one.

Started hounds
To get a started hound, put a deposit on a Phipps CCB puppy. When your pup is 10 weeks old, send final payment for the pup plus half of the training cost. By 7 months old your started pup will be:
- striking off the box and trailing on the game you want him hunting
- starting to track on his own and coming to his name
- riding and rigging in and on the strike box
- treeing and baying, with the desire to pull hair
Your CCB hound will be on his way to being a top lead hound. Final payment is due at the time of shipping.

Ground transport
Road Home Pet Transport is a USDA and Colorado PACFA certified ground pet transporter delivering to the lower 48 states. Routes run at least once per month and rates are based on mileage, with a maximum of $450.

By air
Phipps Big Game Hounds accepts shipping payments from buyers and arranges shipping with the airlines. Dogs shipped by air arrive the same day they depart, and pups are generally ready for pickup within 30–45 minutes of arrival. Please contact us to discuss shipping dates.
$550 per pup anywhere in the United States and Canada, including:
- Airline fare
- Collar with identification
- Pet crate with floor blanket
- Food and water dish that attaches to the crate
- Health certification by a veterinarian (completed within 10 days of the flight)
- An 8-hour round-trip commute to the airport
